Legal & Regulatory

Compliance & Research Use Only Policy

Peptiko products are supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. This page describes the regulatory framework, product classification, and responsibilities that govern every order.

Product Classification

All compounds supplied by Peptiko are classified as laboratory research reagents. They are chemical substances manufactured for in-vitro scientific investigation and are declared as such on all shipping and customs documentation.

Category Laboratory research reagent
HS code (primary) 2933.99 — Heterocyclic compounds with nitrogen hetero-atom(s) only, other
HS code (alternate) 2934.99 — Other heterocyclic compounds
Intended use In-vitro research, method development, analytical reference

Peptiko products are NOT classified as pharmaceutical products, medicinal products, food supplements, cosmetic ingredients, or veterinary products. They are NOT approved for human consumption, clinical diagnostic, or therapeutic use in any jurisdiction.

EU Regulatory Framework

REACH & Research Exemption

Peptiko operates in accordance with EU Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH), which governs the registration, evaluation, authorisation, and restriction of chemical substances placed on the European market.

  • Research exemption — compounds are supplied in quantities below the REACH registration threshold of 1 tonne per year per substance, placing them within the scope of the scientific research and development exemption.
  • Annex V exemption — substances used exclusively for scientific research and development (SR&D) and for product and process-oriented research and development (PPORD) are exempted from the general registration obligation under Annex V of REACH.
  • Documentation — every shipment is accompanied by a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) consistent with REACH Annex II and a research declaration identifying the consignee as a laboratory or research institution.

Customer Responsibilities

By placing an order with Peptiko, the customer accepts the following obligations:

  1. Verify local regulations. Confirm the legal status of research chemicals in your jurisdiction before ordering. Regulations vary significantly between countries and regions.
  2. Qualify as a researcher. Confirm that you represent a qualified laboratory, academic institution, or independent research entity with the competence to handle research reagents safely.
  3. Use for in-vitro research only. Employ compounds exclusively for in-vitro scientific investigation, analytical method development, or reference standard applications.
  4. Do not administer. Never administer compounds to humans, animals, or use them for diagnostic, prophylactic, or therapeutic purposes.
  5. Store correctly. Maintain compounds under the storage conditions specified on the Certificate of Analysis to preserve chemical integrity and purity.
  6. Dispose responsibly. Dispose of unused material, reconstituted solutions, and contaminated consumables in accordance with local hazardous waste regulations and institutional safety protocols.

Quality Assurance

Every batch of Peptiko research reagents is subject to analytical verification before release. Quality data is made available to the customer prior to purchase and with every shipment.

  • Purity: ≥99% verified by High-Performance Liquid Chromatography with Mass Spectrometry (HPLC-MS) on every production lot.
  • Certificate of Analysis (COA): batch-specific, third-party COA available for review before purchase. Each COA is traceable to a unique lot number printed on the vial label.
  • Independent testing: analytical verification performed by accredited third-party laboratories. Independent peptide testing facilities such as Janoshik Analytical (Czech Republic) are representative of the type of accredited laboratory whose methodology meets the analytical standards expected of research-grade material.
  • Identity confirmation: mass spectrometry is used to confirm that the observed molecular mass matches the theoretical molecular weight of the target compound within ±0.1 Da.
  • Traceability: production, storage, and shipping records are retained so that any batch can be traced from synthesis through delivery.

Shipping & Customs Compliance

International shipments are prepared with complete and accurate documentation to support lawful import as research reagents.

  • Customs declaration: all shipments are declared as “Chemical reagents for in-vitro laboratory research” under the appropriate HS code.
  • Documentation package: each parcel ships with a commercial invoice (including HS code and unit value), the batch-specific Certificate of Analysis, a Safety Data Sheet, and a signed research-use declaration.
  • Restricted jurisdictions: Peptiko does not dispatch to jurisdictions where the import of research chemicals is restricted or prohibited without prior written consultation and confirmation of the consignee’s research credentials.
  • Cold-chain handling: temperature-sensitive compounds are shipped in insulated packaging with phase-change cooling elements sized to the transit route, protecting compound integrity in transit.
  • Discreet outer packaging: products ship in plain outer packaging without references to compound identity, consistent with standard chemical reagent handling practice.
Research Use Only Statement

All products sold by Peptiko are intended exclusively for in-vitro laboratory research. They are NOT medicines, NOT supplements, and NOT for human or animal consumption. By placing an order, you confirm that you are a qualified researcher or the authorised representative of a research institution, that you will use the supplied reagents solely for lawful in-vitro research, and that you accept full responsibility for compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws and institutional regulations.
